With a background in Ayurveda, Lorna has a specialized approach to postpartum care focused on preparation of healing meals and massage therapy as well as community connection, education, and resource.
Philosophy
Postpartum is the most delicate period of the childbearing year. The birthing parent will optimally benefit by allowing those who love them to care for them while they focus on bonding with and feeding their baby, but most importantly while they take the time to heal and rejuvenate for a full 42 days. The care which the postpartum family receives during this 42 day sacred window has a powerful effect on the patterns created in their lifelong journey together. The benefits of proper care can last not only a lifetime, but for unborn generations to come!
Rates
In-home Doula Services:
A 25% retainer fee is requested upon 32 weeks gestation. The remaining amount is divided into a weekly fee and requested with an invoice at the end of each week of service. I go on call to begin serving you at 36 weeks gestation.
***Sliding Scale Rates are available for lower income families upon request. Gross annual household income must be less than $100K to qualify.
During your weeks of service you will be provided:

weekly shopping lists

dietary consultation

nourishing ayurvedic meals, snacks and beverages

ayurvedic massage (abhyanga) and infant abhyanga instruction

light house work

emotional, nutritional, and breastfeeding support
Full Service: $300/day
4-5 hours of in-home service including cooking, massage, and light housework.
Cooking only: $160/day
3-4 hours of ayurvedic meal preparation and service.
Massage only: $160/session
Gentle, rhythmic strokes and warm oil come together to offer endless benefits with postpartum massage. This technique calms the nervous system, promotes circulation and deeper sleep, and boosts immunity!
Childcare, Emotional Support, and Light Housework only:
$20-35/hour (details of contract discussed in consultation)
